Bomber Raid FM - Sega Master System [023] PlayThru

Bomber Raid for the Sega Master System is a vertical scrolling shooter.  The game was developed for Sega by Sanritsu.

NOTE: A trainer was used for making this capture.

For the release in the US, this game appears to be one of the few third party games released for the SMS.  Nintendo had basically a monopolistic hold on the games market with the deals they were signing for NES development at the time, so Sega was locked out of the US.  This situation was much different in Europe.

This is a title I have had since shortly after the release of it in the US.  First off, ignore the cover picture for the game.  The generation of aircraft in the game is not near the SR-71, in my opinion.  Otherwise, this is a nice shooter programmed for the SMS.  Not perfect by far, but a decent effort.  I spent many hours playing this title, but I never beat it, unfortunately.

My thoughts?  Bomber Raid is a decent addition to the SMS library, and an inexpensive game to pick up.  It is OK to play, for the shooter fan, but it might be a pass for a casual player.

Capture info -

This gameplay was captured on April 13, 2019.

Game was played on a Sega Genesis Model 1.
A HD Retrovision Component cable was used, connected to an OSSC 1.6 (processing the video in Line4x mode), with the output being captured by a Startech USB3HDCAP.
