Commando - Atari ST [007] PlayThru

Title Screen
NOTE: A trainer was used for making this capture.

For those unaware, once completing the game, gameplay just restarts.

I remember when this game was new in the arcade!  There were three arcades I would get to visit, mainly due to their proximity to other stores my parents frequented, and this cabinet showed up right near the actual release, slotted in right between other games.

Atari ST Cracktro [010] The Big Four from Strider

Main Screen
I will not have too many stories to write for 'CrackTros' (Demo screens that appeared as introductions to cracked video games) as I did not have very many of these back in the day.  I am mainly recording these now because they are art, and need to be preserved.  I will also attempt to transcribe the scroll text, which will be posted in a companion blog entry linked above.

Shanghai PSG - Sega Master System [005] PlayThru

Title Screen
As I mentioned in the FM sound capture of this game, this game is the reason I do not have my original Sega Master System model 1, which is still sitting hooked up to a TV at my parents' house.

Windows 10 - Build 1803 and Startech USB3HDCAP Capture card fun! Includes Fix Info

So, I was going to capture some more footage from my trusty Atari 1040 ST.  I got everything fired up, everything hooked up, and started 'Stream Catcher' to record from my Startech USB3HDCAP and...  nothing.  Stream Catcher does not see the device.  I go to the Device Manager, and Windows 10 reports the decvice is working properly.  I uninstall and reinstall the drivers, plug the unit into multiple USB ports, reinstall Stream Catcher, try OBS, nothing works.  The only known change to the setup was the Windows 10 update/upgrade to build 1803.

Dragon's Lair - Atari ST [006] PlayThru AutoPlay

Title Screen
Think of this capture as a movie, it (and the other five ReadySoft titles) were all run from a hard disk installation to avoid the disk swapping nightmare on the ST for these titles.

Shanghai FM - Sega Master System [004] PlayThru

Title Screen

This game is the reason I do not have my original Sega Master System model 1, which is still sitting hooked up to a TV at my parents' house.  I did manage to claim my favorite joystick from the system though, the Epyx 500XJ for the SMS, and a few copies of this game.

Having captured a playthru of Strider, I decided to capture the various cracktros for the game, so this is one of them.

Golden Axe - Sega Master System [003] PlayThru

Title Screen
NOTE: A trainer was used for making this capture.
Golden Axe, an excellent side scroller hack-and-slash from Sega was released in the arcades in 1989.  I have played the Atari ST version, and Sega Master System version, maybe 2 or 3 times.  I had the Genesis cartridge early on, and that is the one I played the most.
