Uncharted: Nate's Theme - Greg Edmonson - Chiptune Cover [007] (5x YM2149 PSG)

 

This is the last post of this type before the Christmas posts start rolling in on December 1st.  Here is a tune that some may recognize: "Nate's Theme" from Naughty Dog's Uncharted series of games.  This is another tune that I left on the cutting room floor, as I was unhappy with the lack of instrumental depth after chopping so much out for the 3 channel YM.

The Outer Limits (1995) Theme - John Van Tongeren & Mark Mancina - Chiptune Cover [006] (6x YM2149 PSG)

 

Here is the new Outer Limits TV theme!  I had considered this theme for Retro PlayThrus CD #22, the Halloween release, but I did not see any path towards getting a nice working rendition of this tune on the limited 3 channels.

Galactica 1980 Theme - Stuart Phillips - Chiptune Cover [005] (4x YM2149 PSG)

 

Here is a chip rendition of the Galctica 1980 theme by Stu Phillips.  I cannot really describe the difference between this theme and the original theme.  This theme is quite similar to the theme used in the reboot show as the Colonial National anthem.

Zillion Theme from the Sega Master System - Yoshiaki Ouchi - Chiptune Cover [004] (2x YM2149 PSG)

 

Here is the title theme from the Sega Master System game Zillion, based on the original anime 'Red Photon Bullet Zillion' that ran in Japan in 1987.  

The Mandalorian Theme - Ludwig Göransson - Chiptune Cover [003] (4x YM2149 PSG)

Here is the full version of The Mandalorian Theme, before it was converted to 3 channels to be included as the menu music for Retro PlayThrus CD #17.  

Twilight Zone - Golden Earring - Chiptune Cover [002] (2x YM2149 PSG)

Here is Golden Earring's song 'Twilight Zone' running in Arkos Tracker 2, with 6 channels of audio, which amounts to running off of 2 YM2149 PSG chips.  A version of this song, reduced to 3 channels to play on the Atari ST, appears on Retro PlayThrus CD #22 as the background music.

And here today is born a new age, an age of...  Oops wrong script.  Welcome to a potential new series of video postings.  I say potential mainly because of the time investment it takes to create this specific type of content.  As of now, these videos, or songs, are basically creations from my attempts to take songs I like, and convert them for use with the series of Retro PlayThru's Compacted Disk menus I release on a monthly basis at the blog for the Atari ST.
