Altered Beast - Sega Genesis [002] PlayThru

Here it is, Altered Beast, the *LAUNCH* title in August of 1989 for the Sega Genesis in the US.  I believe the game came out for the Mega Drive in Japan in November of 1988.  But how is this pack in game?  Is it any good?

Here it is, Altered Beast, the *LAUNCH* title in August of 1989 for the Sega Genesis in the US.  I believe the game came out for the Mega Drive in Japan in November of 1988.  But how is this pack in game?  Is it any good?

I think this was an excellent early demonstration of the power of the Sega Genesis from Sega.  Granted, the game is short, but the game has replay value, the sprites are large, and the sound is decent.  I hope to do a comparison with the Arcade release in the future, along with a comparison to the Atari ST version, as well as the release for the Sega Master system.

For now though, I will say that control is good, and overall the gameplay and sound in the game is really good, especially for a title released so early in the Genesis' life!
