Atari ST Cracktro [015] Blade Runners from Star Trek The Next Generation

Main Screen
I will not have too many stories to write for 'CrackTros' (Demo screens that appeared as introductions to cracked video games) as I did not have very many of these back in the day.  I am mainly recording these now because they are art, and need to be preserved.  I will also attempt to transcribe the scroll text, which will be posted in a companion blog entry linked above.

Time Soldiers PSG - Sega Master System [009] PlayThru

Title Screen
NOTE: A trainer was used for making this capture.

This is a game I played years ago, with the original SMS sound.  Although, after having played through the same title with the FM sound, I think I honestly prefer the FM over the PSG version.  The PSG sound still gets the job done fine, but I just believe here that the FM wins out.

Atari ST Cracktro [014] Blade Runners from Pandora

I will not have too many stories to write for 'CrackTros' (Demo screens that appeared as introductions to cracked video games) as I did not have very many of these back in the day.  I am mainly recording these now because they are art, and need to be preserved.  I will also attempt to transcribe the scroll text, which will be posted in a companion blog entry linked above.

Dragon's Lair - Escape from Singe's Castle - Atari ST [010] PlayThru AutoPlay

Title Screen
Think of this capture as a movie, it (and the other five ReadySoft titles) were all run from a hard disk installation to avoid the disk swapping nightmare otherwise present on the ST.

The Atari ST adaption of Dragon's Lair is by no means complete, so add this footage into the capture of the first Atari ST port of the game, and the the experience comes closer to being complete.

Time Soldiers FM - Sega Master System [008] PlayThru

Title Screen
NOTE: A trainer was used for making this capture.

I picked up this title mainly because I enjoy run and gun titles like Commando, and Ikari Warriors.  Time Soldiers is very similar in play, except that gameplay is not totally linear, something I sort of forgot at a few points when I was playing through this title.  This is a nice change!

Atari ST Cracktro [012] Blade Runners from Thundercats & Pandora

Ikari Warriors - Atari ST [009] PlayThru

Title Screen
NOTE: A trainer was used for making this capture.

Ah, SNK's vertical run and gun!  I remember this game from the arcade, and I always hated the rotary joystick.  I can remember some people saying this game was basically two player Commando, but I do think SNK did enough to differentiate the two titles.

Strider - Sega Master System [007] PlayThru

Title Screen
NOTE: A trainer was used for making this capture.

The tune heard in the intro of this video is a YM2413 (Sega Master System FM module) rendition of a Strider theme, sourced from a midi file from the Sega Genesis version.

Dragon's Lair II - TimeWarp - Atari ST [008] PlayThru AutoPlay

Title Screen
Think of this capture as a movie, it (and the other five ReadySoft titles) were all run from a hard disk installation to avoid the disk swapping nightmare present on the ST for these titles.

The Atari ST adaption of Dragon's Lair II is by no means complete, just like Dragon's Lair, but if you add the sequel game in, Dragon's Lair III - The Curse of Mordread, it comes a little closer.

Great Soccer US - Sega Master System [006] PlayThru

Title Screen
'Great Soccer' is known as 'World Soccer' in Europe and Japan, as there was an earlier 'Great Soccer' released in those regions for the Master System that is a totally different game.

Included here is a playthru of a game or match I won, and a penalty shootout I lost.  Also, all of the national anthems from the eight included countries are captured, with two from the match, two from the shootout, and the last four added at the end of the capture.
