Here we have the intro for Space Quest 4 in 16 color EGA from Sierra, running in the Atari port of ScummVM with AdLib sound. If the game was ported to the Atari ST, this is what it would have looked like.
The colors are not great, but the game is playable. The way Sierra did the reduction from the 256 color VGA to 16 color EGA was not a pretty process, in my opinion. But with this color reduction, at least the main game would work on an Atari ST with a compatible interpreter. The music would be an interesting dilemma. There is much variety, and some digital sounds, that would push the YM chip. MIDI would be the best choice with an STe/Falcon for using digital audio. The ScummVM-Lite port would be ideal for this, but I know that bringing in the SCI engine is probably a mountain of work. Anyway, this is playable on the Atari port of ScummVM, but I would highly recommend the VGA talkie version for the best expereience. I would only go for the EGA port if it were running in a hopefully forthcoming ScummVM-Lite.
The binary used for this game is the same one that was used for Space Quest 4 VGA capture, and can be downloaded from the end of that blog post.

This capture was played on an Atari Falcon equipped with a CT60 clocked at 66 Mhz and a SuperVidel with the DVI and audio output being captured by a Startech USB3HDCAP.
