Darius+ - Atari ST [047] PlayThru

Darius+ is a side scroller shoorter, with beautiful and colorful graphics, sound effects and music, and decent play-ability.

NOTE: A trainer was used for making this capture.

What is wrong with the gameplay?  The game runs a little sluggish on the stock Atari ST, in my opinion.  But that is literally the only real detraction.  Otherwise, the programmers did an outstanding job, utilizing the ST's palette for all of the art.  I should try this game on the Atari Falcon and see how it performs, or maybe even on a Mega STe with its 16 Mhz CPU.

Darius+ level layout is similar to Out Run in style in that at the end of each stage the player can choose one of two paths. There are 21 total levels, but to reach the end, a player only needs to complete six levels.  To actually play every stage in the game, a gamer would need to play through the game six times.

Except for the sluggishness mentioned above, Darius+ is a pretty nice shooter on the ST.
