Atari ST Extra [016] Space Quest 1 SCI/EGA in ScummVM on CT60 Falcon Roland MT32

Here is the intro to the EGA version of Space Quest 1 SCI with MT-32 music, which is more or less what the game would have looked like if it was released on the good old Atari ST with the 16 color EGA.

I have never played this version of the game before, but I have played the original AGI Space Quest on the ST ages ago, and tested the AGI game on the Atari version of ScummVM.  It looks interesting, and one day might be worth a play with the enhancements SCI has over AGI.  I see no reason this game would not run on the ST if we had a compatible executable to run the game.  As with other SCI titles, the game runs pretty well on the Atari port of ScummVM, but gets heavy at times.  I believe this is more to do with how the SCI engine was originally ported (a clean room port, which is how FreeSCI was made), but that does not mean I am right!

The binary used for this game is the same one that was used for Space Quest 4 capture, and can be downloaded from the end of that blog post.

This video was captured on May 20, 2020.

This capture was played on an Atari Falcon equipped with a CT60 clocked at 66 Mhz and a SuperVidel
with the DVI and audio output being captured by a Startech USB3HDCAP.

Video was edited with Shotcut.
