Atari ST Extra [024] King's Quest V DOS/EGA Intro in ScummVM on CT60 Falcon Roland MT32

Here is an capture of the intro to Kings Quest V, from the EGA release from the Atari ScummVM port, with MT32 sound.

Kings Quest V was another game that went unreleased on the Atari ST, but the ST was mentioned in the manual, so the cancellation must have come after some development had started, similarly to The Quest for Glory II.  The 16 color EGA here is not great, but it looks far better than what we saw with Conquests of the Longbow.  Anyway, this is playable on the Atari ScummVM port, and I would hope some day this title would be made available to regular ST users.  I do not think there is really any reason the gold old ST could not run this title similar to the competitors like the Amiga.

The binary used for this game is the same one that was used for Space Quest 4 VGA capture, and can be downloaded from the end of that blog post.

This video was captured on May 20, 2020.

This capture was played on an Atari Falcon equipped with a CT60 clocked at 66 Mhz and a SuperVidel with the DVI and audio output being captured by a Startech USB3HDCAP.

Video was edited with Shotcut.
