Tetris (MirrorSoft) - Atari ST [043] Short PlayThru



Tetris, one of the earliest puzzle games to become popular, was made in the USSR in 1984 by Alexey Pajitnov.  It is well known that the NES version of Tetris had a legal fight licensing the game that excluded Tengen from distributing a port they programmed, but the ST also had its own issue.

Here is another Williams title that was ported to the ST; this time is it Moon Patrol.  This title was originally created by Irem of R-Type fame, and was licensed for US distribution by Williams as opposed to some of the other Williams titles to appear on the ST.

Rockford - Atari ST [040] Short PlayThru



Rockford is a port of an arcade game by the same name, which was a port of the Atari 8-bit original title Boulder Dash.  The original arcade game ran on modified Amiga hardware, and I believe it is presently lost, or undumped.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away...  The Empire Strikes Back, the sequel to the Star Wars arcade game released in 1982, was released to arcades in March of 1985.  This game is a vector graphics title like its predecessor, and remains that way for the port to the Atari ST.
